The church is approaching sexual addiction wrong.
Our guest today, Dr. David Janvier LPC, has been working with sex addicts for 20 years, and his unique approach has impacted countless men over the years, including you host, Mike Hatch.
Join us as we learn more from Dave's vast experience. He'll explain how to approach sex addiction holistically. Traditionally, the church has approached this issue from a primarily cognitive perspective which has sadly caused a lot of harm.
Dave entered the counseling field as a Licensed Professional Counselor 20 years ago by an invitation and a calling. The invitation was God leading Dave to deeper levels of personal healing and a greater experience of God’s presence and Grace. The calling was to go forth, create healing spaces for others and equip those called to do the healing work and ministry of Jesus.
Viewing this work as missional and spiritually formative, Dave has integrated psychology and counseling modalities with theology and spiritual formation. He views himself as a spiritual companion to those who are in need of deep healing from devastating trauma, profound suffering and enslaving addictions.
